lighting system that is superior to the products currently out in the market place. The strength of our
design stems from over thirty years in optoelectronic semi-conductor design and experience in
manufacturing hi-tech, hi-quality, low cost electrical devices for the consumer market. We are a direct
partner with the manufacturer which assures prompt service and accurate orders.
SSD Lighting (Solid State Diode)
SSD chips are fundamentally LED’s, our chips use less common materials and a patented process to
create LED’s that have a longer lifespan, greater resistance to heat and increased efficacy; we use
Gallium Nitride substrates not Gallium Arsenide substrates. The Meanwell drivers we use are the best in
the business. The factory has authorized us to provide you with an 8 year/75,000 hour warranty; the
industry norm is 5 year/50,000 hours, or less. We do not use mercury or tungsten in our lights.
Lumens, Color Rendering Index and Foot Candles
Lumens are the metric unit of light measure, similar to Foot Candles (fc). Empires fixtures generate 130
to 140 Lumens per watt (lpw). Most of the LED’s on the market today range from 100 to 110 lpw, due to
their use of Gallium Arsenide substrates which run hotter and produce less light. The color rendering
index (CRI) of our lights is over 80, which assures excellent color depiction. Our photometric analysis
indicated the fc levels in the building ranged from 45 in the warehouse to 50-55 in the office and
production areas.
Longevity
An LED’s lifespan is subject to ambient temperature, all electronics performance and lifespan are subject
to heat. The standard temperature rating used for LED’s in 77°F. We use 104°F degrees to rate our
fixtures since it is a more common “real world” application. At 104°F our fixtures are rated at 75,000
hrs. For comparison our fixtures exceed 140,000 hours at 77°F; they run cool.
Fixtures
We are partnered with a custom builder with several series of fixtures that are common in industrial
applications to take advantage of available rebates. We manufacture only commercial and industrial
fixtures, built to your specifications with high quality components and our fixtures are dust and vapor
tight that will not be affected by repeated wash downs. The shatterproof polycarbonate lens and
aluminum housing are extremely strong and can survive earthquakes and wind storms. Most of our
lights are DesignLighting Consortium (DLC) approved and all are UL approved.
Return on Investment (ROI)
With our high quality fixtures and high efficiency, our lights are 75%-90% efficient, we will significantly
reduce your electrical (KWh) costs, especially if they are relatively high and typically produce a ROI of 2-3
years. Further, there is no ongoing maintenance with these fixtures as there are no bulbs to replace.
Your cooling costs are also lowered because our lights run cool; 75°F. You also increase your property
value.
